L'esperienza comune di tutti gli insegnanti di matematica è che poche persone sono a loro agio con i numeri, sia per quanto riguarda le operazioni che per quanto riguarda le unità di misura. Ancora peggio va con le probabilità. Ma in fondo questo è naturale: il nostro cervello non e stato selezionato per fare calcoli, ma per risolvere problemi sociali.
