Present and future of laser in medicine

Fifty years have passed since when a laser was used for the first time to destroy a tumor of the retina in a hospital in New York. Since then, lasers have spread consistently in all fields of medicine, not only in ophthalmology and dermatology, where the laser is a tool of current use, but also in surgery. Its accuracy and selectivity and the ability to use it in non-invasive conditions have made it a useful tool for diagnosis and treatment of many diseases.

The two guests, a doctor and a physicist, will make a brief introduction to non-specialists, and will then be available to answer all possible questions from the audience.
